EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPES THE QUESTIONS
Mardy’s background spans business development, strategic partnerships, agent education, and employee benefits enrollment. Working across those responsibilities has shaped his interest in the questions that arise before an employer signs and the work that continues afterward.
His writing connects the employer’s evaluation with the realities of education, enrollment, payroll coordination, and ongoing support. The aim is to make complex conversations more useful to the people responsible for the outcome.
Why I co-founded SIMERPU
The industry needs a place where education comes before the sales presentation. I want employers and professionals to understand the structure, ask better questions, and know who is responsible after the decision.
HOW I APPROACH THE WORK
My articles examine SIMERP structures, regulatory developments, employer responsibilities, and the claims shaping this marketplace. I link to sources, distinguish commentary from documented facts, and make room for questions that need a qualified specialist.

An Open Letter to the SIMERP Industry.
The future of the SIMERP industry won’t be determined by who delivers the most impressive sales presentation. It will be shaped by the trust we earn, the value we deliver, and what happens long after an employer signs.

The Rule Treasury Did Not Finish, and Why It Is Still the Test
If you have been in this industry more than a year, you have heard someone say the IRS tried to kill wellness reimbursement plans in 2023 and failed. I want to walk through what actually happened, because the version most of us carry around is wrong, and the wrong version is now a liability in at least two states.

Two States Just Licensed Our Industry. Here Is the Standard.
In 2026 two state legislatures stopped waiting. South Carolina and West Virginia passed laws that license the companies administering wellness reimbursement programs, and they wrote those laws with a very specific picture of what has been going wrong.
